I am an Independent Fundamental Baptist Missionary Preacher on deputation to the North Western United States of America. I am seeking like-minded churches that will partner with us in seeking salvation of the lost, and an awakening of the saved in America. I know that God has called me to preach and we are so excited to see the Lord opening the door for us to establish a New Testament Baptist Church in Rapid City, South Dakota. Will you please prayerfully consider us for missionary support? I grew up in an independent fundamental Baptist pastor's home. My dad preached from the King James Bible, the Word of God. When I was five years old, I had listened to dad as he preached and recognized that I was lost when the Holy Spirit convicted my heart of my sinful state both by nature and by choice. I prayed to the Lord Jesus Christ and asked forgiveness of my sin, in repentance and faith called out to Him for salvation. I was baptized and added to the church. As a young man at the age of 10, I surrendered my life to Jesus for full time work in the ministry. I knew that the Lord wanted me to preach, and I did as a young teenager for several years, but because of fear and other things that came into my life I ran from His call upon my life. Thinking I was doing something greater, I joined the United States Marine Corps. I found myself on the other side of the world in Iceland, and it was not only cold physically, but I was getting cold spiritually. I tried for about a year to fit in with the boys in the Corps and to be one of them, but I could never get away from God or the call that He had placed on my life. Others could see it, even when I was trying to hide it. After I left Iceland, I was promised to be able to go back to the southern United States, where I was from and where I wanted to return. But the Lord had other plans for me. I was given orders to go to Camp Pendleton in southern California. It was there that the Lord broke me once again on the streets of Oceanside, CA. I ran right into the only King James Bible preaching New Testament Baptist Church there in the area, and it was exactly where God wanted me to be. I wasn’t looking for Him, but He was there waiting for me. I repented of my sin and I returned to Him with my whole heart, to run no longer from His call upon my life. I called upon Him more and more as He showed me great and mighty things. I began to do what God told us to do in II Timothy 2:15 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. My heart began to be broken and burdened for my county, the Nation of America. While faithfully serving in church, and preaching in the communities, the Lord showed me that I had more than a call to preach, I had his burden and his desire to establish New-Testament Baptist churches and call America back to The Old Paths. Amanda and I have been married now for 7 years. We were both pure before we married, and we have given ourselves to each other for the first and only time until death do we part. My wife is a Godly lady who loves the Lord and counts it the highest honor to be married to a man of God. She has a servant's heart and she is committed to what the Lord has created her for, to be a wife to me and a mother to our children. God bless the ministry that he has called her to. She is not only a wonderful wife, but a great mother. I am so proud of the example that she is to our 3 year old little girl that the Lord has blessed us with. We pray for His will, not ours, concerning the children that He wants us to have. Thus far Michala Mercy Sherwood is the only little gift that He has seen fit to give us, but what a wonderful gift. The Lord has provided for us financially and we have been able to stay full time on the road trying to get the support needed to establish a local new testament Baptist church in Rapid City, South Dakota for the glory of God. I work full time preaching as the Lord has told me to do. My wife works full time home keeping as the Lord has told her to do. And the Lord provides the finances that we need to do what He has told us to do. We began deputation full time in May of 2007. We are sent out of the Heritage Baptist Church in Cornelia, GA. They believe very strongly in the commission of the local New Testament Baptist Church to send out Preachers to evangelize and start churches both at Home and around the World. They are behind us 100% and they are our largest supporters. Their desire is the same as ours, that other churches would join in and help us to establish churches here in the North Western United States. Heritage Baptist Church's website is TheHeritageBC.com. I encourage you to visit this website if you would like to know more about our home sending church. We have made 3 survey trips to Rapid City, South Dakota over the past year and a half. It has been our specific goal on these trips to discern where the Lord would have us to plant a church. The Lord clearly directed us to this city of Rapid City, SD which is the 2nd largest city in South Dakota, a city of nearly 100,000 people. The only thing between us and the field of Rapid City, SD is the remaining monthly financial support needed to make the move to establish this Local New Testament Baptist Church. The Lord is always faithful and we are so excited about His desire to see a church established in Rapid City, SD. He has shown us His grace for deputation and we are enjoying His ministry. We want to be a blessing to your church and will participate in any ministry in which you would like us to serve. We are capable of providing conservative special music in song, piano and guitar. Our music would be the same as that which would be honoring to our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ. We enjoy working with children and would be happy to help in any way possible. We enjoy ministry and desire to be used whether or not your church can support us financially on the field or not. May the Lord richly bless your ministry with His Presence and His Power.
